Anatomy of a Skirt
Designer: Erin Wilk
Location: Kitchener, Ontario
Makes: Bags and accessories
Erin's work is inspired by nature and animals, mid century design, Jane Austen, and the Wild West. She shares her pared down studio with a beast of an industrial sewing machine named Suki that looks like she's been making things as long as Erin has been alive. She started out making bags from vinyl, but now prefers to work in industrial felt and corduroy, and is always on the look out for more environmentally friendly, sustainable options. No, she does not make skirts - Anatomy of a Skirt came about from a contest to name her reworked vintage clothing company, and though she since decided to focus on bags, it stuck.
